Centrestage

About

Centrestage is a fun-filled CCA where students are provided with a platform to express themselves eloquently, articulately and creatively through drama. During their weekly sessions, they are taught fundamental drama skills, including voice projection, movement, characterisation and improvisation. Through drama training, members develop adaptability, quick thinking and confidence as they learn to respond in a variety of performance situations.

Students also engage in meaningful discussions and explorations of current affairs and social issues through dramatic expression, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the world around them while bringing stories and perspectives to life on stage. 

By the end of their time in the CCA, students realize that drama goes beyond acting. They acquire soft skills such as time management, communication, and collaboration, while building self-confidence. Most importantly, students learn to be open-minded, appreciate diverse perspectives and bond with one another, all while having fun in a supportive and creative environment.

Objectives

• To hone members' creative and critical thinking skills and enable them to express their ideas confidently through drama.

• To develop member's comprehensive understanding of drama and develop the relevant skills and dispositions.

• To deepen member's understanding of the world by using drama as a platform to explore and advocate for social issues.

• To provide opportunities for members to develop their leadership skills through facilitating training sessions and organizing CCA activities, such as camps.
