School Leaders' Message

'Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.' Ephesians 6:10

Welcome back to school after the school holidays. The final examinations are just around the corner. I am sure many of you would have used the holidays productively to consolidate your learning. Our teachers have conscientiously guided and prepared you throughout the year and they will continue to be there to provide that additional assistance in your studies. The rest is up to you now, to approach your examinations focused, well-prepared and with confidence.

For all our girls in the non-graduating years, the coming year-end examinations will be a checkpoint for you to gauge if you have built strong foundation to move to the next level. If you have not given your best at the mid-year examinations, this is the period you can catch up. Knuckle up and work hard. Avoid last minute cramming and when the going gets tough, always remember you have your parents and teachers to turn to for support to alleviate your stress and worries.

Graduating girls will see your secondary school journey coming to an end after your final exams. As you approach your studies, I hope you will hold close to your heart our CHIJ motto, ‘Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty.’  You must believe in your ability to overcome the seemingly daunting challenge ahead, because your teachers have equipped you well for this, and you too must believe that you have what it takes to overcome this challenge. All of us from the school wish you all the best in your endeavour.

Lastly, to our soon-to-be alumni, cherish the time you have with one another, find time to strengthen your ties with your schoolmates and your classmates, so that the relationships you form that can last long after you have left the school. We look forward to you keeping in touch with the school. Do continue to your connections with the school by joining the school alumni, so that you can build a stronger alumni that can contribute to the well-being of your juniors in SJC.

Have a rewarding Term Four.

Blessings from the School Leaders,
Ms Pauline Fun, Principal
Ms Berlina Tan, Vice Principal
