School Leaders' Message

‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “the plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’  Jeremiah 29:11

Welcome to CHIJ St Joseph’s Convent.

2020 marks the start of a new decade and it will certainly be an exciting period for us.

We ended 2019 by celebrating our girls’ success at the national examinations. Like their seniors, our girls have made the school and their parents proud of their achievements. We wish our girls success in their future endeavours and we look forward to their contributions as alumnus of the school. For our new Secondary One students, we like to welcome them. Our teachers and the seniors in the school will help them to assimilate into our school quickly.

SJC is the school where our girls get to discover their talents and develop their passion. The culture of care and excellence permeates the school environment, supported by dedicated staff, key stakeholders such as alumni, Parent Support Group (PSG), School Management Committee (SMC) members and external partners in community collaborations. As a Christ-centred community, we are single-minded in our efforts to guide our girls so that they will become women who are Simple in Virtue and Steadfast in Duty.

Our teachers are committed in honing their subject mastery. Constantly exploring how they can infuse innovative teaching into their teaching strategies, their efforts help our girls to deepen their knowledge of concepts and develop key competencies and skills. Support is also provided to safeguard our girls’ social and emotional well-being. Our non-teaching staff provide the operational and administrative support to provide a positive socio-physical learning environment for our students.

Our girls possess different talents and each has the potential to succeed. We believe that as they journey on with their peers and the teachers in the school, they will mature into individuals who can positively impact the community. Be proud to be an SJCian, become a positive influence and let us look forward to everyone having a successful and rewarding journey as a part of the SJC Family!
